Sedation Dentistry

Sedation dentistry is a procedure involving the administration of sedative drugs, generally to reduce patients fear and anxiety related to the dental procedure.

Oral sedation is one of the available methods of conscious sedation in dentistry, along with inhalation sedation (nitrous oxide) and conscious intravenous sedation (IV Sedation).

People who have a general fear of the dentist can utilize sedation to reduce their anxieties. Additionally, medications will reduce the memory of the procedure and the sights and smells of the dental office.

Sedation allows the patient to be more comfortable during dental procedures.
